Kristen Edwards

Born and raised in Alaska, Kristen’s work is deeply influenced by her years of commercial fishing as a child and young adult. She paints primarily with acrylic on canvas. Drawing inspiration from the ocean, nature, and the rugged beauty of industrial metals, Kristen creates a variety of artwork involving many layers and are often highly textured. This powerful intersection of nature and industry has inspired her to have an ever-evolving exploration into a variety of subjects and textures with a bold tactile style. Kristen’s pieces do not tell a specific story; she invites you to experience her work with your own interpretation and hopes that it evokes emotion.
