Danger Newton

Based in the south-east of England, working predominantly with paint; I create internal gallery ready pieces as well as unsanctioned street art. I draw inspiration from contemporary, modern and ancient wall painting. Their are similar themes running throughout my work, such as social commentarys including, growing concerns about a consumer culture, consumption, the privatisation of public spaces, authority and the changing boundaries of freedom. Although I take these subjects seriously, I enjoy adding a certain amount of fun or humour to my work, which could put it in the realm of low brow art, although I have recently graduated with a first class degree in Fine Art, which I studied for in England and Italy.
