I am Oleg, a self-taught sculptor and wood artist from Mariupol, Ukraine. My hands have always known how to shape wood — not from textbooks, but from instinct, memory, and the quiet rhythm of creation.
In 2022, my city was destroyed. I lost my studio, tools, and most of my artworks — pieces that held years of my soul. But I did not lose my hands, my vision, or my will to create.
Today, I live and work in Kyiv. Here, I rebuild — not just my studio, but my voice. I carve from reclaimed wood, scrap metal, and fragments of the past, transforming loss into form, silence into presence. My sculptures are abstract, raw, and deeply personal — echoes of resilience, memory, and the unbroken spirit of my homeland.
I do not have formal art education. I do not need it. My art is born from life — from war, from grief, from love for beauty that refuses to die.
This is not just sculpture. This is survival. This is Ukraine.
Self-taught. Developed through decades of independent practice, material experimentation, and lived experience — including survival and artistic rebirth after the destruction of Mariupol in 2022.
Currently rebuilding exhibition history after wartime displacement. Open to gallery representation and curated shows. Recent focus: solo practice in Kyiv, Ukraine.
