The painting navigates the borderline between abstraction and form, a rule's transgression, experimenting in a dark gothic apocalyptic romanticism. "Goth" used as a term opposed to classical, as barbarian, chaotic, against the rules and afterwards as a dreamlike state before the surrealism appeared.
