Artist / Architect Statement
I do not see myself as an artist in the conventional sense.
My work grows from the discipline of architecture—an attempt to express architectural thinking through physical forms in the world.
During my master’s studies (MBArch) in Spain, my tutor introduced me to the work of Andy Goldsworthy, which opened a new door for me. I began to recognize how architecture can be represented through art, and how the two fields can converse through structure, light, and time. This understanding resonates deeply with the principles in John Ruskin’s The Seven Lamps of Architecture, a book that helped me grasp the essence of architectural quality in the Western tradition.
I am also influenced by the Japanese artist Hiroshi Sugimoto. Through his horizons and seascapes, he presents the quiet infinity of the world—landscape as if seen beneath the vast roof of a temple. His work teaches me how stillness, distance, and silence can shape spatial perception.
Conception
For me, Time is the fundamental unit for thinking about space.
Light reveals how matter grows, flows, and behaves according to its own inherent structure—
