ABOUT
EXHIBITIONS

Loïc de Maisonneuve (born in 1974) is a French self-taught sculptor who works exclusively with wood. With a background in oceanography, he discovered his passion for sculpture while renovating his home — a tactile and emotional encounter with wood that changed his path.

Deeply inspired by nature and the power of the elements, Loïc explores the organic memory of wood through sculpture. For him, carving is not about control, but about resonance: “I like to plunge into the waves of annual rings, to rediscover the power of the elements and place my personal history there, so that it resonates with this raw material.”
His practice respects the natural rhythms and history of each piece of wood. Sometimes he adds pigment or color — not to conceal, but to reveal. The result is a collection of artworks that seem timeless, inviting, and contemplative — gateways between the visible world and what lies beneath.

Loïc's poetic, tactile universe is a true ode to life, nature, and the landscape. His sculptures are exhibited throughout France, Belgium, and the United States, and are represented by several contemporary art galleries.
