Manon Azar

Born in 1983 in Isfahan, Iran, Manon (Mohammadreza) Azar has a background in the Arts from the University of Florence, where he is based. He approaches photography through intuition rather than pursuit. The roles are inverted: he is not a hunter, but the prey of the subject that entraps him. Paradoxically, even when carrying his camera, he often resists using it, doing his best not to take any photographs. He takes the shot only when the impact and the obsession go beyond his resistance. Sometimes this process unfolds over minutes; other times, it happens in a single second.
Manon doesn’t expect a reaction from those who see his work. He only hopes it makes them feel something, or think about something. If it does, that’s enough.
