Vikram Bawa is a photo artist, fashion photographer, and film director based in Mumbai, India. His practice spans over three decades and refuses easy categorisation — moving between fine art photography, commercial work, fashion films, and social documentation with equal conviction. He is known for pushing the boundaries of his chosen art form, and for never shying away from exploring the unknown.

As a fine artist, Vikram has produced more than 25 distinct bodies of work — from the psychologically charged Fallen Angel series (2007) to the intimate Voyeur series, the mythological Kamasutra, and the meditative Rivers of Freedom. His photographs sit at the threshold between visibility and erasure, between the body as subject and the body as symbol. His work has been described as fantastical, contradictory, unapologetic, intimate, and ephemeral.

His commercial work is equally far-reaching. He has shot more than 300 published covers for Elle, Femina, Filmfare, L'Officiel, Hello!, Marie Claire, Verve, and Vogue. He has photographed iconic portraits of Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Priyanka Chopra.
