I have always been interested in the dynamics of colour, and the variety and subtlety of the colours provided by nature in its many moods. This has provided me with a path of exploration in abstract form. My art revolves around the seductiveness, and vibrancy of colour, the play of warmth and coolness, light and darkness, and the juxtaposition of coloured shapes and forms that provide a dynamic, yet rhythmic experience for the viewer. A further area of exploration and never ending challenge, is the expression of the human figure, with all its structural subtleties, its forms, its movements, in drawings and sketches using charcoal, conte, and graphite mediums.
'Like the work of nature, the work of art is subordinated to the same law, that of construction. The individual parts have life only by virtue of whole.'
Kandinsky - 1912/1913
After retiring in 1996, I enrolled in the Fine Arts Programme at Montreal's Concordia University, graduating Summa cum laude with a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts, Painting and Drawing. I have shown in a number of exhibitions in Montreal since graduating, and I am a member of C.A.R.F.A.C. as well as a number of other associations.
