Antonio Sciortino

Antokso is a visual artist born in Switzerland, active between Milan and Tuscany. His research develops mainly through artistic ceramics, understood as sculptural and conceptual language, in which gesture, matter and time become narrative elements.

In 2019 he deepened the disciplinary and ritual dimension of doing under the guidance of the Japanese master Setsuro Shibata, an experience that decisively marked his relationship with form, emptiness and repetition.



Antokso's work investigates the tension between control and abandonment, between structure and imperfection. For him, ceramics are not a decorative means, but a field of resistance: matter responds, deviates, retains memory.

The works are born from slow and repetitive processes, in which the gesture is emptied of immediate expressiveness to become a trace, residue, testimony. The influence of Japanese culture manifests itself not as a formal quote, but as an attitude: respect for time, attention to the margin, acceptance of error as a form of truth.
