Steve Mills

Born in Oregon in 1954. Art, music and photography were always the core of my life - in different measures at different times - and I am now retired and casting about to leave my body of work with collectors. Selling the original works was never the reason I created them, but time changes everything.

I've never held an exhibition, though I have displayed in competitions and sidewalk art shows. I did sell prints of some early drawings (and a few actual drawings) on eBay. This did pretty well for me, and I moved into selling prints from my art nude photographs (created as source for my drawings). This was very well received for a number of years. My prints are in collections around the globe because of that. I have some remaining that will be offered here. Last to be made - I have ceased printing them.

With a few exceptions,my primary subject has always been nudes. Inspired by Vargas, I was driven to be like him. Problem was I am not really color-oriented. My eyes are fine, but monochromatic work is just my thing.

High school graduate, with six years of that time spent in art classes, and always creating. I took myself seriously as an artist in 1974, and began a quest to create realistic pencil nudes. Only rarely have I strayed from pencil, though I developed a SERIOUS love for fine-pointed ink stippling.
