Lucie Galvin

Southern California artist Lucie Galvin doesn't use paint or ink - she paints with paper. From her vibrant studio she transforms everyday views into iconic, electric scenes using upcycled scraps, fine paper, and travel souvenirs. Her signature Paper Pictures stack bold, hand-torn and cut textures and highly saturated colors to create thrilling physical depth. Mixing striking graphic patterns with tiny, hidden surprises, Lucie’s tactile artwork practically leaps off the wall, demanding you slow down and look.

Lucie Galvin studied art history at The University of Michigan; education at St. Mary's College California; garden design at The English Gardening School, London; craftsman gardening with The National Trust for Scotland; and illustration with The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. She teaches and practices sustainable gardening and crafts.
