As an artist, I find that restricting oneself to a single, redundant technique is the gravest mistake any individual could make. It seems, too often, we are assaulted with imagery that is so generic, it is practically impossible to recognize the human aspect, within. One has the impression that algorithmic calculations have replaced creativity. Even that which was once cutting-edge, has been mass produced, and is purchasable in neat computer packages.
Using photography as an example, daguerreotypes, kallitypes, and cyanotypes, to name a few, are rarities, and very often, mere software emulations. This is not to say that I find technology inherently wrong, but I feel in order to break free from the boundaries of today's omnipresent modernization, yesterday"˜s methods should not simply be discarded.
My intention is not to preach, but rather to explain my thoughts and perspectives, artistically speaking, and to present that which I do; hopefully, free of stereotypes and unbound by genre.
