Leo Leo - Vardanyan

Leo Leo - Vardanyan born in Yerevan, Armenia in 1971. From the age of ten, he started attending various painting clubs and studios. Until the end of the academy, the works are mainly figurative and semi-figurative. During his studies at the academy, he became interested in Eastern philosophy, particularly yoga and various meditative practices. Later it became crucial for Leo in art. For full self expression figurative art does not coincide with internal experiences and after the Academy the search for a personal style begins. The first solo exhibition in the 1998 in year already had an abstract direction.After many attempts in art and meditative discipline, it comes to the conclusion that art can completely replace meditation.After 2010 the art of Leo as a whole is meditative in nature.Painting is at the center of Leo's art, along with which it manifests itself in other formats, as photography, video art, performance. The artist is sure that if there is no contradiction inside, each format of self-expression will generalize and not divide the process.
