Once called the "Most important artist in Syria", Hala Al-Faisal was born to be an artist.

From a very young age in her native Syria, Hala felt compelled to express herself through the arts. Pursuing her passion has not always come easy for Hala, who was born into a prominent political family that pressured her to follow a more conservative career path in medicine or pharmaceuticals. But, Hala would not comprimise. She followed her heart and her love for the arts and grew to become a true citizen of the world studying and perfecting her craft in many globally diverse settings including Moscow, Paris, New York, and Berlin, where she now practices. Hala has studied at the Damascus University, Syria.
BFA in Visual Communications (1983),
at the Moscow Cinema Institute, Russia.
Cinema, drama and animation (1985/89),
at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France.
Drawing and painting (1994/95),
and at the Art Students league, New York.
Painting and sculpture (2000).
