Dan Greenley

I am an Artist from Yorkshire England. After leaving Art college in 2000, I have taken an interest in the Yorkshire Landscape. My paintings however do not directly represent the landscape they take elements from it. I look at the shapes/form , textures, line and Spatial relationships and then translate this into my paintings. Colour is also a very important part of my paintings. Although my colour is much more instinctive and worked out though experiments and colour theory. I also love the visible brush mark, It can be expressive and bold, as well as subtle and delicate. It can be thick and heavy as well as light and almost transparent. The main thing I try to get across in my work is the enjoyment of the process, and the image is strong and memorable, enjoyment of it can also be enjoyed by the viewer.
