Tuomo Manninen

1962 Jyväskylä, Finland. Lives and works in and out of Helsinki.TUOMO MANNINEN (b. 1962) is a photographer based in Helsinki. Since 1995 he has been taking group portraits of members of various local organizations in cities around the world--Kathmandu, Helsinki, Riga, Saint Petersburg, Lisbon, Ho Chi Minh City, Paris and most recently Havana; twenty-two of these group shots were included in Harald Szeemann's "Plateau of Humankind" at the 49th Venice Biennale in 2001 and ever since they have appeared in various solo and group shows all over the globe.Three monographies, Me/We (Helsinki 2000), Hare Krishnas and Huli-Guli (Kiel 2005) and "Wir/We" (Recklinghausen 2009) have been published from the series.
