Gary Klein

A 40 year veteran of the music business, Gary is now following his longtime passion: photographing the regional foods of Italy.

During the past 15 years, Gary has traveled extensively throughout Italy and has eaten in countless restaurants, not just in the major cities but also in the magical country towns that dot the Italian landscape. During this time he kept a database of restaurants, describing what he ate and the ambiance of each restaurant. As his list grew, it became more and more difficult for him to remember one restaurant from the other, so he began to photograph each meal as it was served to him.

His inspirations come from the foods and kitchens throughout Italy. "The cooks and chefs are artists, turning simple foods into something visually beautiful." - gk
Gary's photographs were shot in restaurants, homes and markets throughout Italy. All of his pictures were shot in natural light.
