Mariano Soto

Mariano Soto (Murcia, Spain 1970) is a versatile spanish artist, curious about different aspects of Art, and with a curious sight and very personal creative positions.

Not only painting, which is dedicated as a child, but also writing and psychoanalytic studies have been objects of their work, as well as cultural management at Fondamenta Art gallery in Palma de Mallorca which he was founder.

Fine Arts graduate of the University of Barcelona, Mariano Soto continued his education at the Fine Arts University of Ravena and the Palazzo Spinelli Institute of Art and Restoration in Florence.

He works as a painter, teacher, communicator and cultural manager doing exhibitions, courses, art workshops and lectures throughout Spain.

After experimenting with different styles and techniques in the course of his career, Mariano Soto focused on the practice of East-asian painting techniques, deepening his training with Master Li Chi Pang.

He has found in Chinese painting and Sumi-e an approach to research and growth that has allowed him to develop his creativity and explore the expressive and therapeutic possibilities that run through these age-old painting techniques, reflecting on rice paper the essence of nature and places lived,...
