Deirdre Shepherd

My paintings are inspired by landscape.I'm aiming to convey an ephemeral quality, a sense of something partly seen or remembered. Colour is applied and reapplied gradually building up layers. I work on many pieces at once and each painting informs the next. Working intuitively, information is absorbed and processed to the point where the organic integrity of the work is not overtly dependent on specific references.
