Angela Van Oss

Angela's work is a celebration of the countryside.

Angela returned to live and work in Wiltshire after completing a three year diploma in fine art in London, where she discovered the galleries and wonderful paintings, traveled to Europe and Russia and was inspired.

Passionate about the countryside Angela now walks in the fields, by the rivers, in the rain, in the snow, the early light and the evening light for inspiration and has traveled to Cornwall, Scotland and Morocco. Her paintings evolve over several years, working with the seasons, starting with sketching outside, location visits to fields, views, to study the animals it is an adventure and part of the process, often returning to her studio to further develop her paintings. Angela is persistent using a variety of mediums; pencil, gouache, pastel, acrylic or oils, her sketches and studies are focused and evolve into a series of works. Her aim is to have strong beautiful colors reflecting what she sees and feels, an emotional response and an expression of her soul.

An early inspiration was Angela's grandfather Tom van Oss a portrait and landscape painter; the artists which currently influenced her are; Pissarro, van Gogh, Monet, Matisse, Constable, Turner and Stubbs...
