Francis Schanberger

Born on El Dia de los Muertos (All Souls Day), 1965 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.

I have a memory of my son as an infant looking up, out of a window at a neighbor’s maple tree fixated on the moving patterns of light. Also, recently as an eight-year-old, he asked whether I see things differently than he does. Trees are a constant presence both seen and forgotten, felt and ignored. Perfect subjects to investigate our differences in vision.
