My creative practice involves research and durational intervention within decommissioned buildings and gallery spaces. Using immediate material, immersive and inhabitable situations are constructed. Preconceived notions of familiarity are ruptured in order to create new proposals for interiorities, sites and situations.

The methodology is to work site responsively, allowing particular qualities and conditions to reveal themselves, which have potential for specific outcomes. Sites are inhabited through a slow material engagement, and then reconstructed through occupation, maintenance, and certain activities. It is a material, temporal and spatial practice, and is also connected to the exploratory process of drawing.

The practice foregrounds duration, an attentiveness of being 'in time', and is intuitive in nature. Being attentive to time allows the practice to open up beyond contemporary creative practice – an opening up to something ‘other’. It considers time as method, time as content, and time as material.

In employing these methodologies, the ‘other’ becomes matter’s capacity for being otherwise; a potential for becoming/unbecoming. Attentiveness 'in time' is practicing openness and living outside preconceptions, which ...
