Dalia Ferreira

I am a venezuelan artist and journalist, living  and working actually in Lyon, France. I had participated in more than 30 art exhibits and 15 art galeries solo shows ( PINTA LONDON, PINTA NEW YORK, FIA, PINGYAO CHINA, FRANKFURT, MADRID, PARIS.) . In 2014 I had the honor to be the first latinamerican artist selected by Google Cultural Institute as a Google Open Gallery Artist. 

My artistic work raises a reflection about the contemporary world and its situations to the limit. I am concerned about demographic exposure, climate change, migration, loneliness, survival in big cities, globalization. My artwork begins with documentary photography: people, cities, mutations and urban  transformations. I make sessions called the Photo Therapies, inviting  people to pose in unusual ways. Then I alterate  this raw material in my mix media "lab-atelier" and produce my artworks in high quality canvas. Su orientación artística nace de la mano de los fotógrafos Nelson Garrido en Caracas en 1989, Steffen Rassmussen, de la Polar Foundation for Female Photographers from Greenland, en Copenhagen en 1991, Taller Ana María Yánez en Caracas y Rodrigo Benavides. En el 2012 viaja a New York en donde estuvo durante seis meses estudiando dibujo y técnica mixta en The Art Students League.
