Natalie Orr

Hello - I am Natalie of Astoria Oregon - My areas of interest originate with collage, delve through dark room photography, ceramics, writing, and settle in acrylic paintings of landscapes, portraits, and dream inspired panoramic scenes complete with other worldly characters and narratives hand-typed on an old typewriter. I do all sorts of funky stuff. Just hoping to get it out there where it belongs.

I studied at Idyllwild Arts Academy in Southern California in the heart of the San Jocinto Valley. There I started as a Film Major- working with lighting, tripods, steadycams, Final Cut Pro. I found myself awash in the ego trip of Hollywood so I transferred to the Interdisciplinary Department halfway through the year where I was introduced to little huts in the big snowy forest with just a few potting wheels and a window. I fell in love with pottery and dark room photography that winter of 2004, and showed my work at the year's end gallery exhibition. It wasn't until I attended the University of Oregon (2007-2011) that I began to paint with discipline, and that has been my primary outlet -- along with poetry and collage, since then.
