I paint because it is the only way to express myself by remaining silent.

Inspired initially by the French Impressionists I had started to develop a pointillist technique in black and white through gray (acrylic) covered with layers of colored polish (oil) resulting in realistic though distant atmospheres. Diplômé de l'IEcole des beaux-Arts (St Luc) a Gand (Belgique) en 1979, Cesar Emile Boesten commence à vendre ses oeuvres à la fin de la dernière année de ses études, notamment à l'état Belge et à des collectionneurs privés. Peu après il obtient une mention spéciale au grand concours de peinture du Lion's Club Belgique. Suivent des expositions solos à Knokke, Ostende, Gand, Courtrais, des commandes et des ventes pour des collections privées. Après une longue carrière professionnelle dans un autre domaine artistique, il recommence à peindre en 2014. La peinture deviens son occupation principale. Il s'inspire par les gens autour de lui...famille, amis et ceux qui ont marqué sa vie. Dans leur pureté, dans leur quotidien. Il va chercher les émotions et la connexion intense et vivante.
