Aisling Dunne graduated from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin in 2007 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art. She has participated in numerous exhibitions in Ireland and abroad. In 2011, she completed a MSc in Child Art Psychotherapy with University College Dublin, which has informed her current practice.
Aisling’s paintings go beyond surface, form and colour into other dimensions of time, space and identity, areas not easily categorised or articulated. She enjoys exploring colour as she paints. Her aim is to seek new forms of self-expression and personal freedom in her work. The paintings are constructed in an intuitive manner. The work pushes and pulls itself to completion. Through her work, she finds herself expressing sentiments or reactions of which she brings to consciousness.
