Confucius, in the 5th century B.C., is purported to have said, Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.
In 1852, Thoreau added, The perception of beauty is a moral test.
Kahlil Gibran wrote, in 1926, When you reach the heart of life you shall find beauty in all things, even in the eyes that are blind to beauty.
The search persists.
