I grew up in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, an environment that shaped my sensitivity to weather, atmosphere, and subtle shifts in color. Today I live and work in Seoul, drawing on both urban infrastructure and local landscapes as source material. Across media, I am interested in how small details, like a seed pod, a kiosk, historical and urban architecture, can become quiet focal points that invite close, sustained looking.
I received a BFA in studio art at the University of Arizona with training from the artists Robert Colescott, Bailey Doogan, Alfred Quiroz, Chuck Hitner, Harmony Hammond, Hita von Mende, and Susan Plum.
