Vadym Panchenko

Vadym's artistic journey began in 2007 when he enrolled in the Interior Design Institute at the Lviv National Academy of Arts. As a student, he focused on traditional techniques such as painting portraits and still nature, which led to his first exhibition in 2012, "4o," a series of portraits that depicted the beauty of Ukrainian women in the 90s. This exhibition marked the beginning of his career as an artist.
Over the years, Vadym's work evolved to incorporate more abstract elements, which was reflected in his use of the symbolic figure of a fish without a head and tail floating in endless space. This symbol represented his views on the concept of free will in Christianity and the idea that things happen despite our wishes.
During this period, Vadym's art reflected the inner mental turmoil and transition from figurative to abstract art. He eventually crystallized his concept of fatalized perception of life choices and illusions of free will, which led to a solo exhibition featuring 11 paintings on canvas, all depicting the fish without a head and tail in a parchment paper tightly tied with a string.
Through his art, Vadym explores the complexities of human nature and existence, challenging viewers to question their own perception...
