BIOGRAPHY

Born in Taiwan in 1949, Yun-Ming had a great passion for art since his childhood and took the course in Chinese ink painting at the National Taiwan University of Arts. Later he went to the USA to study creative arts and developed his own artistic language and form to express his own style, feelings and thoughts of his own visual world. Since that period he has moved away from Chinese ink painting to focused on oil painting; “it was a hard process and required determination”, Yun-Ming said. He has been well-known and successful in the Chinese ink painting art scene internationally for many decades, but while studying for his MA at Lindenwood University around 1999, he adopted emotional expression to challenge traditional conceptions of oriental art, which he continues to do today. Despite the drastic change of medium, Yun-Ming has nonetheless been represented by various prestigious galleries and has held numerous exhibitions across the globe recently. His next major exhibition in Taipei will be a solo show in December in 2014.
