Meral Quane

Meral started as an Architect in Turkey and after travelling extensively throughout Europe, gained an interest in art with a particular interest in materials and colour. After undertaking a fine arts course in the UK, and various minor exhibitions her art and technique has developed further. Particular interests are urban decay and renewal and how this can be represented through minimalist abstract art.
Meral’s art is a respresentation of the emotional response to the subject and this is often seen in the use of found objects from the site within the work.
Meral uses an experimental approach, creating her own pigments from clay, iron, plants, and other natural sources frequently found at the sites of inspiration to give a sense of place for particular works to through colours and textures. She uses printing and collage in conjunction with paints pigments other materials to create works of atmosphere and depth.
Meral wishes to continue to create works that inspire through further exhibitions
