I guess when asked to write an Artist Statement, the real question is what is your message? What do you hope to accomplish with your art? I don't really have a message. It's like, this is me introducing myself to the world. I like what I'm doing right now, so, what do you think about it? And what are you doing that is really interesting, or what can you do with this to make it even more interesting? My message is more like a conversation starter; and the responses can come in various creative forms. I want this conversation to last as long as it can and reach as many people as possible, like a wave, like a drop of water in a puddle. And then I want this wave, this trend, to create more waves until it's like a continuous flow of inspiration. I want it so spread like a virus. So, I guess my real message is that there is no such thing as bad art. Saying that there is is detrimental and can keep that next Picasso from being confident enough to create something beautiful. Peer pressure and prejudice and judgment can really suck when it's really negative. The greatest waste of all is unused potential.
