Katherine Perez

I am an artist located in the Midwest where I create paintings, woodcuts and drawings that relate to culture, social equality, as well as mental health. I believe that society must look through various lenses to embrace the humanity and empathy that makes the world a better place.
I graduated from the University of Kansas in 2010 with a B.F.A. in Studio Art with my emphasis in painting. Since then my style has been in flux, presently it is settling in a mix of abstraction and representation that I am comfortable with.
Art should comfort as well as confront the viewer.
