David Rickert

I have been painting nearly full-time for 25 years in oil, acrylic and watercolor. I was born/raised in Minneapolis, MN, where I spent a career in advertising design and illustration. I began teaching around 1990 and was a member of the faculty and exhibition committee at the
Edina Art Center and taught classes and workshops there for twelve years. I paint both in my studio and plein air on location.

I attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design evenings, honing my drawing and painting skills. But I credit my commercial career for developing my skill and knowledge in design, composition and color. Having those skills made the transition to fine art very easy.

I have had several one-man shows, including: Premier Gallery, Minneapolis; Robin Gallery, Minneapolis; The Phipps Center for the Arts, Hudson, WI; Great River Arts Gallery, Little Falls, MN; Cultural Center Gallery, New York Mills, MN and the Franklin Arts Gallery, Brainerd, MN.
