Alanna Lawley is a multi-disciplinary artist whose main focus since 2017 has been exploring delicate topics surrounding physical and mental wellbeing through multiple forms of artistic expression. Her work is catalysed by the force and understanding of her inner world in response to immediate contexts and situations that have an opportunity to resolve themselves across the immediacy of the 2D surface. Her intuitive works, through drawing and painting take you to the root of the feminine – exploring the reclamation of female history and her insistence on identity, sexuality and visibility as a result.
Her drawings and paintings are uncensored, and support her to generate new ideas for translation in the outer world which lead to new dialogues and the freedom and clarity to create performative interventions in the form of sculptural or digital works that offer a playful reprieve and comment on our everyday existence.
