Tanya Ragir, born in 1955, resides in Los Angeles, California. She received a BA in Art and Dance from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1976. She has had numerous solo exhibitions at venues including the Bakersfield Museum of Art, Bakersfield, California; Burbank Contemporary Art Center, Burbank, California; and the Heritage Gallery, Los Angeles, California. Ragir has been featured in over sixty national and international group shows since 1976 and has received notable awards including: the Fine Art Connoisseur and California Art Club 101st Gold Medal Exhibition “Excellence in Sculpture” award, Los Angeles; Best in Show “In Bloom” Chicago, Ill, National Sculpture Society Silver Medal and John Cavanaugh Memorial “NSS 2000 Annual Exhibition”,; John Cavanaugh Memorial Award for Figurative Sculpture, New York; “California Small Works “award, California Museum of Art; “Museum Without Walls” Pacific Garden Malls .
