Kristoffer Tolentino

BIOGRAPHY

Kristoffer Macario Tolentino was born on October 5, 1985. He is a fulltime visual artist and a college professor at the University of the East, College of Fine Arts and Architecture. He received his formal education at the University of Santo Tomas and University of the East Caloocan where he got his degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts Major in Painting. A scholar of the Maningning Miclat Art Foundation (MMAF), he studied the Shui Mo, a traditional Chinese painting workshop held at the Yuchengco Museum class of 2013. He is the founder and former president of the PINTURA Student Art Organization of the University of the East Caloocan Campus. His early passion for drawing was supported by his father, also a visual artist and a retired art professor at the University of Santo Tomas.

In the past years, he used to work with different types of medium, blending his colors to create life in his pieces. He depicts a number of subject matters, from realism, combined caricature and editorial style to surreal.

His works exudes an appeal that is clearly unique, refreshing and fun to reflect and celebrate traditional Filipino’s everyday life.
