I was fascinated by Jackson Pollock, but he’s not my teacher. Had we met we would wrangle the meaning and creation process of our paintings. He felt to be nature and denied accident. I am fighting with colors, often I disagree with them and just as often they try to steer me in another direction. Occasionally we meet in accident. The result is stunning, serenity in an endless chaos without beginning and end.

Sometimes the canvas lies on the ground for days or even weeks. I walk around it and wait. Often the wait is unbearable. Another time it takes literally just a few minutes, and I know that I found what I'm looking for. The Ground gives me the perfect perspective and overview. Therefor I fill the canvas solely horizontally. Colors fall, spill, splash, run into each other. I offer them my space and they'll take it. I lead them where the result is me.

There is nothing between. Either my paintings enchant you, or you hate and despise them. And so it should be. I feel the same way. Some I love, other hardly look at. But all my paintings you will see are complete and I stand by them.
