ARTIST STATEMENT


As you will see, my work is lacking of a definable style, it is rather eclectic, jumping from figurative to abstract, what I call a nomadic style. I deliberately saunter from one form to another, creating pictures that are each one of them a different adventure: metaphysics, symbolism, an esoteric, expressive and mysterious cosmogony, sometimes blended into naïve humor to soften the transcendent. Works that transmit certain nostalgia of future. An invisible energy, childish at times, with certain eclectic spiritualism, building bridges between Eastern and Western cultures. I believe in a invigorating solar art that brings inner comfort, pleasure to senses. A necessary and urgent goal to paint, draw, photograph or film everything which rejects darkness and deadly forces. My work aims a radical and vital aesthetics research of energy, enhancing visual hospitality, based on warmth and color.

THE PRINS CIRCUS. VARIATIONS OF THE SOUL
Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Prins Circus: the visionary madness of a lunatic, the fantasy of a flying child, the discipline and the road of a disciple with the rare wisdom of metaphysical
magicians.
Come inside and see. There are several platforms, each one with a different show. However, in each show the main actor is the same person: Prins. Illusionist, juggler, outspoken clown, clumsy tamer,
and symbolist tightrope walker. More than that, a trapeze artist. Often endowed with a romantic genius, a poet´s imagination, like a silent crazy tramp, he is peaceful in his appearance but powerful in his imagination. He produces simple images, as coarse as a caveman’s; others are delicate to the invisible
detail and expressive as a blast, or as a lithium shot right in the middle of the frown. Always disturbing,
often hypnotic.
He is the same person who paints his dreams and keeps dreaming of flying. Not just to escape
or to visit other places, but to feel like the petal of a lotus flower, light and quiet. He who is captivated by
planes…and from there upwards: science-fiction worlds with flying saucers, spiritual worlds with cosmic
shocks from Sirius and further away. Strange rays....
