Inanna Jiang

I am a Chinese Canadian intuitive artist, and art workshop facilitator in Canada.

Art is the language I found to access inner world and emotions. Art opens up a path for me to explore the unconscious mind. It is my practice of mindfulness, my practice of following the "inner guidance", and my practice of being congruent with what is felt from inside.

My relationship with art was "unexpected": I never thought I had anything to do with art before 30: I was trained rigorously from an academic background with a Master Degree in social work. I helped rural migrant children in Beijing to find their voices through art activities in the beginning of my career; yet as a young professional, I, myself, didn't have a means to express my own voice. Like a lot of young female professionals, I also faced power imbalance and harassment in work environment. I felt voiceless.

One day I was attracted to the color of a “Mandala” and joined a mandala workshop. I tasted "JOY" and "FREEDOM" when I moved my hands on a canvas for the first time. That was my "Point Zero" and since then it is a journey of "no return": I keep creating intuitive paintings, collages for more than a decade to express my inner truth and the depth of subconscious mind.

Inanna Jiang is also trained in body-focused, trauma-informed art therapy --Sensorimotor Art Therapy, and certified in its two modalities: Guided Drawing and Initiatic Art Therapy. She is also a “SoulCollage Facilitator”.
