Lina Sanchez is an artist born and raised in Greeley, Colorado, who works predominantly in acrylic and watercolor to create expressive portraits and emotive exterior and interior scenes. Sanchez’s work focuses on the use of minimal light and a dry brush stroke to present to the viewer a visual narrative. Sanchez graduated from the University of Northern Colorado and has been featured at the Southard Showcase in the Arts. She has also participated in a group collaboration with the Philharmonic Orchestra to create an installation for the production titled Through the Hero’s Eyes in 2015. The product of this collaboration, Transcending Chords, has become part of the Union Colony Civic Center’s permanent collection. Sanchez has held several shows in Greeley and Fort Collins, and has been commissioned to paint a mural in Greeley’s Art Alley for 2016.
