Shirin Houston Tabeshfar

My paintings are largely inspired by my education in the west, my roots and heritage
in the East, and the contradictions at play between the two. Both prosaic and poetic.
My canvases are often divided between order and chaos. I try towards a simplification of the forms to the extreme.
I love to play with colour and composition to create a serene world where I can
tell stories with images, combining elements of symbolism, spirituality and a sense of time passing.
