In Ursula Krenzler’s paintings every brush stroke has an immediate effect on its context and yearns for either balance or contrast.
On one hand this implies an on-going specification of the artistic concern, on the other hand an ever growing more complex momentum during the act of painting leading into a yet to discover unknown reality.
In the process of the covering
emerges the visible picture like a rising apparition maintained by the mist of memories of an underlying stratum.
Per Kirkby said, ‘It is the eternal paradox in painting that the possible inner core can only be reached in adding to it even more.’
The essence of a painting may show itself on the surface but at the same time it stimulates deeper rooted ventures.
