Carlotta was born in London in 1974 to Italian and British parents and was brought up primarily in France. She is now a freelance photographer based in Europe, specializing in documentary and environmental portraiture.
With a quenchless curiosity to learn about people from other backgrounds and walks of life, Carlotta has travelled extensively, photographing several communities around the world. Ranging from 3 months living in an Aboriginal community in Australia, to a month living up in the Mountains of the Moon with the Bakonzo tribe of Uganda, to her most recent work with a community of Italian Americans in the Bronx, she finds living with and learning from peoples from very different backgrounds to herself to be her main drive and inspiration.
Carlotta studied photography at both SPEOS (Paris International Photographic Institute) and ICP (International Centre of Photography, New York), and has a joint-honours degree in languages from University College London.
She has had several solo exhibitions - in London, Paris and Italy.,
