Alastair Eales

Dr Alastair Eales is an artist-facilitator and reflective practitioner-researcher committed to fostering creative exploration within collaborative, community-focused frameworks. His practice centres on participatory grassroots art projects that support individuals at risk of homelessness, social isolation, and societal marginalisation, enabling them to develop their own cultural presence. Working in partnership with organisations such as Trinity Winchester, the University of Southampton, and Winchester School of Art, he seeks to strengthen networks of care and creativity by bridging gaps between the wider community and those positioned on its periphery. His work foregrounds co-authorship, shared knowledge, and dialogical exchange, promoting recognition and inclusion through the visibility of participants’ voices and experiences. Through critical reflection and rigorous documentation, he contributes to broader discourse on socially engaged art, cultural democracy, and inclusive methodologies, continually evolving his approach to better serve the communities with whom he works.
