Indira Mukherji

I was born at Santiniketan, India. I am a teacher, painter and photographer. I enjoy painting and playing with colours. I love to travel to different places around the world.Paintings fascinate me. I am influenced by the paintings of the renaissance artists. I draw inspiration from nature and human figure.The opulence of hues in the sky and sea haunts me and is reflected in my paintings.I try to portray the female figure as the symbol of beauty, purity and present woman as woman with all her subtlety and femininity.Mostly I use acrylic on canvas. I like working in this medium for its lucidity and the scope of redoing.
