Kristen Marco

Born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, I first discovered my love for art in High School. The validation of several art awards gave me the confidence to pursue my artistic endeavors even more passionately as I headed for college. Through my University program, I studied Art History in Florence , Italy, where I often traveled to Paris to immerse myself in the great French Impressionists-particularly Renoir, Monet, and Degas. These Masters would prove to be the foremost mentors of mine.
My art celebrates the beauty and joy of life, and the ideals of peace and happiness to which we all aspire. The bloom of youth, the vibrancy of color, the perfection of nature-these elements are essential to conveying the spirit of gracious days, gentler times-and I combine them in my paintings to create special moments where all is right with the world.
I have a passion for exquisite fabrics and elaborate gowns as well as for furnishings and decorations of days gone by. I haunt flea markets and vintage clothing stores for the perfect accessories to incorporate into my paintings. When I find that special dress or ensemble, I create a composition around it.
