Luigi Sanfilippo lives and works in Palermo. Graduated in Architecture in 1973, he has been assistant for a few years at the chair of "Industrial Design" at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Palermo, then a professor of "Construction and Design" at the I.T.G. Verona and later "Artistic Education" in Palermo.
He has participated in group exhibitions in Verona and at the National Painting Competition organized by the City of Palermo in 1971, always favoring "fast" painting techniques such as china, charcoal or simple graphite grease. Lately, he has also achieved expressive immediacy with oil pastels, which, generously used, are very close to the chromaticities of oil painting.
