Josep M Pasto

I am an artist who gives new life to discarded objects using the assemblage technique. I draw inspiration from the identity of each element and from how they relate to one another to give meaning to the work.

I see in the world a constant urge to throw things away and replace them, and with my works I want to make people reflect on the new life these objects take on in the context in which I place them.

I want the audience to feel the impact of seeing them out of their usual place, with an unexpected function. At the same time, I want them to perceive the delicacy with which each piece is made. For this reason, in my works I modify the pieces just enough for them to fit together, I join them with screws and restore them so that they regain their original presence.
